GrabGreen Ecofriendly Home Cleaning Products
I wasn’t much of a label reader before I started this project. I would occasionally peruse the fat content or caloric intake of a food just to make sure that I wasn’t setting the wheels in motion for a coronary. As far as cleaning products go, I was literally clueless. I ashamedly admit that I wasn’t even aware that there were ingredient lists on these products until about 15 months ago… Well, I’m a bit more well-read and the inquisition of labels has become standard operating procedure while shopping. I still consider myself a rook-rook-rookie when it comes to the ingredients, but I have honed my skills well enough to look out for certain “gotta avoid these things”. One such ingredient is “phosphates”.

February 21, 2011 - As seen in Terry's Spa, Beauty and Wellness Go-to Wanting to provide a safe, natural and non-toxic home environment for her two daughters, Patricia Spencer’s passion and journey led her to the founding of MaddieBrit Products. With her passion and knowledge of products, she searched for the right mix of organic chemists and formulators. The result was the creation of GrabGreen Home, a line of safe, eco-friendly, non-toxic home cleaning products that were natural and free of phosphates, chlorine and other harsh, irritating and synthetic additives, including dyes and perfumes. The products I tried included Thyme with Fig Leaf Degreaser Cleaner, Tangerine with Lemongrass Dish Soap, Tangerine Dishwashing Detergent and Vetiver 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent. All of these products were star performers. Both the Degreaser (natural spray bottle) was incredible and not only quickly dissolved built-up grease, but left the surface sparking and renewed. The Dish Soap (liquid) and Dishwashing Detergent (pod) cleaned exceptionally well, cutting through grease without leaving any residue; surface areas were spotless. The Laundry Detergent (pod) was great for heavily soiled or delicate fabrics, leaving them clean, soft and fresh smelling. Each one of the products also had a subtle and fresh scent, were non-irritating and gentle on the hands. Other conventional products I’ve used caused sneezing, irritated my skin and didn’t always clean effectively, but not any of these. These impressively effective products are also ideal for those that are hyper-allergic, and available in scented or unscented formulas. Read the full review >

All about Grab Green 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent Journey to Green - Jan. 15, 2011 Why did you name the laundry detergent 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent? The 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent incorporates three popular products – detergent, fabric softener and stain removers. Why are the detergents and laundry add-ins packaged in a pouch? The pouch helps us reduce waste. Our pouches contain less plastic than traditional big plastic jugs and since we're not using those heavy liquid detergent jugs, there's much less energy wasted on transporting the products. Are the detergent products septic safe?Absolutely, yes. How are your laundry pods easy to use?Simply grab & toss a pod into the washer drum...don't get confused between the washer drum the detergent dispenser, all you need to do is toss the pod into the washer drum along with your clothes. No mess? How is that possible?GrabGreen's® 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent is pre-measured and packaged in water soluble film, eliminating dripping liquid detergent mess and avoiding wasteful over-pours. Simply said, there's no spilling, no mess, no clean up. Read the complete interview at Journey to Green |

Clean Up Your Act with GrabGreenThe Foodie Forkful - Jan 15, 2011 The dust of the holidays has settled. You’ve (hopefully) packed away all your Christmas decorations, and if you’re like many of us, you feel a strong desire to get back to clean, simple living. You may have even resolved to cook more at home this year. Great choice! Unfortunately, cooking more at home also leads to more dishes to do at home. Our little family of three cooks and eats 95% of our meals at home – which means we do alot of kitchen cleaning. Actually I think our sink magically generates extra dirty dishes when we’re not looking, but that’s another story. So when Patricia Spencer, founder of eco-friendly home cleaning products company MaddieBrit offered to send us some items from her GrabGreen cleaning line, I jumped at the chance. While the GrabGreen brand comprises a variety of laundry, all-purpose, and kitchen cleaners, I wanted to specifically focus on the kitchen cleaners. We’ve been using the dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid, and degreaser cleaner for about the last month, and they have all earned a thumbs up from me. The GrabGreen
line of products make household cleaning and laundry care easy and
eco-friendly. With a wide variety of products and several fragrances,
including fragrance-free products, they have almost everything you need
in your cleaning arsenal.
I had the chance to try out the liquid dish soap, all-purpose cleaner, degreaser, dishwasher detergent, and the 3-in-1 laundry detergent. What’s the first thing you I do when I try new products? Open the bottler and take a whiff, of course. I adore the tangerine with lemongrass scent! It has a citrus scent with a touch of that clean, fresh smell I love.
I have tackled everything from caked-on food and a dirty microwave to
crayon on our floor and doors. So far, I haven’t found anything that
the all-purpose cleaner or the degreaser cannot handle. We have also
used the liquid dish soap and dishwasher detergent with great results. Read the complete article on Mom Blog Network > Or read the review at It's Gravy Baby Blog > |

Years ago, when conventional cleaning products failed to
remove stains from her children’s clothes, Patricia Spencer mixed a few batches
of homemade detergent. Not only did her formulas prove to be more effective,
they were free of toxic ingredients, which made Spencer doubly happy. If wasn’t
until her began leaving the nest that Spenser realized her products might
appeal to others. Working with an organic chemist, she developed an array of
eco-friendly household cleansers, including laundry detergent, liquid dish
soap, and all-purpose degreaser.
“My vision isn’t just about healthier homes, it’s about
making chores easier,” says the founder of Camarillo-based Grab Green
(grabgreenhome.com). Her popular three-in-one laundry detergent comes ins pre-measured
concentrated pods that are tossed directly into the drums of washing machines.
The no-mess, no-waste approach has retailers and customers
across the country turning green. Some even share cleaning stories with
Spencer: “Apparently my degreaser, which I designed to clean cabinet tops after
cooking, has been used o remove car and bike-chain grease from clothes. I love
hearing about multiple uses. My customers give me great ideas.” As seen in "805 LIVING" magazine, Jan/Feb 2011 issue.

We got a winning review from The Alternative Consumer.
From sunny Southern California comes a new line of home cleaning products that you’re sure to love. Founder Patricia Spencer hitched her business wagon to CEO Michael Edell and together formed MaddieBrit Products / GrabGreen eco friendly home cleaning products with a total of 40 safe, effective and reasonably priced items in their line.
They offered to provide us with a few products for the purposes of a non-partial review: Dish Soap, Automatic Dishwashing Detergent, Room & Fabric Freshener, 3-in-1 Laundry Detergent (cleans + removes stains + enhances softness) and Wet Dryer Cloths (softens clothes + reduces stain cling + chlorine free + biodegradable cloth + fragrance free) so we put them to the test.
I’m happy to report each product is a winner but two real standouts for me were the Automatic Dishwashing Detergent and Room & Fabric Freshener, (above) and here’s why.

Grab Green by
MaddieBrit Products are environmentally friendly household products
that are safe for use in our homes while protecting our families health.
There are no toxic or irritating chemicals, all ingredients are
naturally derived. They use eco-friendly packaging & they are simple
& convenient to use. AND they are very effective! Grab Green has an
entire line of products to safely help us with our laundry, dishes and
the general cleaning & freshening of our homes.
I was able to try out 3 Grab Green products--degreaser cleaner, grass
cleaner & automatic dishwasher detergents. I found them to be very
effective, they worked just as I expected them to. I loved the
tangerine w/ lemongrass scent of the degreaser, the glass cleaner was
unscented. I checked out the Grab Green Home website and I liked that you could coordinate your scents or go fragrance free.
In my opinion, the best thing about these products is that I feel comfortable using them around my 3 year old!!

I am always on the lookout for cleaning products that not only work, but are good for the environment. Grab Green does just that.
GrabGreen‘s
products are made of naturally derived ingredients. They are non-toxic
and free of phosphates, fillers, fragrance, chlorine, dyes and NPE.
Their products are not tested on animals or contain animal additives.
They also use post consumer resins, recyclable and biodegradable
materials for their packaging.
I recently tried out the dish soap and dishwasher detergent. Even
though these cleaning solutions don’t have all those harmful chemicals,
they work just as well (if not better). I love just throwing the pod
into the dishwasher and being done (and with having a puppy in the house
who likes the eat out of the dishwasher before we can grab her, those
pods are extremely helpful). As many of you know, I’m allergic to life
itself (tested positive for everything my last allergy test tested for),
and the dish soap did not make me break out. GreenGrab can be safer
for people who suffer from allergies, asthma, and multiple chemical
sensitivities (MCS), because they add no fragrances or dyes and most of
their liquid products are soybean or canola oil based (which minimizes
the risk of an adverse reaction).
I would highly recommend trying out GreenGrab products. They worked great in my home and will in yours too!

Go green with GrabGreen
You dress your kids in all-natural clothing, use all-natural body lotions, and your toys are all handmade. But how green are your cleaning products?
GrabGreen has your covered.
Patricia Spencer developed the line of eco-friendly home cleaning products when her two daughters were younger after she was shocked to learn that the detergent she used on their clothing failed to meet her health standards — with her concerns ranging from rashes resulting from use to un-needed plastics in the detergents.
GrabGreen products include laundry detergent, bleach alternative, dishwashing detergent, fabric freshner sprays, and more, and are made with naturally derived ingredients, are free of phosphates and chlorine, and are 100 percent cruelty free, with no animal testing involved. So you can clean you house with a clean conscious.

A thousand times did I wish for a way to clean my house and all the
living spaces with something that shall, First, clean it effectively,
Second, be refreshing, Third, be harmless to the health.
I have tried and tested a lot of products that are harmless for the
health of a human being, but still were lacking the effectiveness of a
good household cleaning solution.
This time, I think I found some little treasure that could make any house cleaning a wonderful past time. Read more > |

As the mother of two young daughters, Spencer, a Southern California
resident, became concerned that her laundry detergent and stain removal
spray were harmful to her children’s health. When Spencer engaged in her
own research, she was shocked to read about the potential health and
environmental hazards in many laundry products, and the eco-friendly
offerings in retail stores failed to meet her standards. “Rashes,
respiratory problems, massive amounts of unneeded plastic,” Spencer
says, listing her concerns. “I decided I was not going to compromise my
kids’ safety or the environment like that, so I started developing
detergent myself.”
Though
she made great progress, logistical problems slowed Spencer’s progress
and eventually forced her to table her efforts for several years. In
2008, after having launched a number of successful health and fitness
related companies, she decided to revive the project and enlisted
several organic chemists to help her finalize her formula and created a
nontoxic powder detergent containing naturally derived ingredients, with
a unique dissolvable “pod” delivery method for easy use. Read the complete article >

Cleanliness may be next to godliness, but disinfecting isn't! A new report from Women's Voices for the Earth, a national environmental health group, links disinfectant chemicals like chlorine bleach and ammonia with problems such as asthma, eye damage and drug-resistant infections. There are plenty of simple recipes online (eartheasy.com and vinegartips.com are two good sites) to make safe cleaning solutions out of such everyday household items as baking soda and vinegar. Also, here are some nontoxic alternatives to considers.

A mother of two, developed this line of naturally derived detergent products because she wanted a healthier, non-toxic, and greener home for her family. The GrabGreen philosophy is to simplify your laundry – minimize waste and use the most natural and effective ingredients that you can. I love the fact that the detergent comes in little water-soluble pods. You just throw them into your washer, as they are pre-measured. This totally eliminates sticky drips and spills from regular detergent, and minimizes waste considerably. You can choose from a 3-in-1 detergent, a delicate detergent, or a bleach alternative and they also carry dryer sheets. A great product for the G.G. girl. There's a new POD in town Ever lug one of those big jugs of cleaning detergent home from Costco? Pretty unmanageable. What about pouring the goop into a cap? As it runs down the side of your washing machine you gotta be thinking -- there must be a better way. Well, the eco-friendly people at GrabGreen have made cleaning your clothes as easy as dropping a POD into your washing machine. 24 of these pre-measured PODS come in a bag and there's no fuss or muss about using them. Just open your washing machine and drop in a POD. Grab Green has used the latest chemistry to make their PODS the greenest detergent pellets on the planet. The PODS are efficient, non-toxic, competitively priced, and, most importantly, get your clothes clean and smelling great. We use Grab Green at our house and I suggest you give it a try...that is...as soon as you get up off the laundry room floor from cleaning up your goopy spilled detergent.

The Reviews Are Coming In... at Green Options
This is quite an interesting detergent and impressive I might add. First I was impressed by the list of ingredients. It's the first time I see all the ingredients of a laundry product listed in such a prominent way on the package. Not only that, I see nothing scary in it and I applaud. The second thing that I found rather pleasing was the individually packed dosages. They are very convenient, especially for people that have to go to the laundromat or the basement, or anywhere outside their dwellings, to do laundry... "Eris"
As I guessed the diapers came out great and no smells :) I'm doing a load of towels with them right now but if they can handle solid food toddler on the go diapers then towels with be a cinch :) "KayMMIV"
The GrabGreen pods got my laundry as clean as Tide, maybe a little cleaner. They also claim to have a softener, which is good because the one problem with hanging clothes out to dry is that they tend to stiffen up. I actually left them out longer than usual today, and although some of my clothes did stiffen up, they weren't as stiff as when I use Tide. "dana1981"
I really like this softener. I like the fact that it is wet. Those dry sheets can be so nasty. This sheet has a very pleasant smell and the clothes come out great! I would definitely buy and use this product! "saintjerome" |
